#The Tree SERIES:
Hope for a Tree

'For there is hope of a tree,
If it be cut down that it will sprout again,
And that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Though the root thereof wax old in the earth,
And the stock thereof die in the ground;
Yet through the scent of water it will bud,
And bring forth bought like a plant'.

The bible in the book of Job chapter 14:7-9, describe the entomology of a tree though it be cut and dried up, it will surely resurrect at the thinest drop of water. The Holy book is great you know; let's take a thoughtful journey on the concept.

Quick focus on the biological cycle of this dead tree. Science portrays the tree to be the oldest living thing. A tree could live a thousand years purposefully on the right soil. For example: The Great Basin bristlecone pine called Prometheus estimated to be at least 4900 years old when it was cut down in 1964. It's considered the longest lived tree definitely documented, and its age was determined by counting its tree rings. A lot of other ancestral trees also existing apart from the Prometheus.

One important thing about the tree is its root. The root scientifically enumerated as a complex under ground organ that plays a crucial role in the survival and growth of the plants. It is a highly specialised structure that is responsible for the absorbing water and nutrients from the soil, anchoring the plant in place, and storing food and nutrients, the soul of the tree.

The root unlike every other member of the tree body is necessarily not seen and noticed. It stays beneath the soil all its life, staying away from significance as it should be; such a lowly life for Mr Root. It functions as the reservoir plus water pump of the tree. It tendrils extends deeply and extensively into the earth to trap water needed for the nourishment as well as growth of the tree. An an anchorage root prevents the tree from being uprooted by any strong winds or other external forces.

When the bible talks about a tree that's cut down and dried, it speaks about a situation of hopelessness for such tree. It extends as a season of distress, pain and neglect for the tree. A dried tree with an insignificant root system. The tree dries cause the root has lost it function, it can no longer draw water as it should. It suffers dehydration and starvation. The entire tree body suffers deeply for the dysfunctionality of the root.

A thrill about this season is the sun stays bright and shiny, good enough for photosynthesis; the sun continues with its radiant smile upon the tree, but woe unto the tree with no leaves. The green of the leaf is long turned brown, the branches are broken and the stalks are shed off. Life runs on; failure of the root equates failure of the whole body.

You remember the saying 'No situation is permanent '. Yes it's as true as it goes. The clouds form over the tree, the brilliant sun dissolves and the sky is waily. With no due weather forecast, the sky prepares for a downpour. The tree doesn't know what is going on; it's dead !!! A drop escapes the budding cloud. It travels a thousand kilometers and pops as it hits the soil, others follow in due sequence. In a minute it rains an overflow, every other living things hurrying to shade but the tree waiting still in the rain.

Two weeks beyond I looked and searched for the dead tree; I looked wide and far and there in the hot sun I stumbled upon one. A bright looking big plant, it was taller than I am: its branches were widely spread and on them held precious fruits canopied by freshly coloured green leaves. A beautiful sight to behold. The flower buds were equally beautiful and shone with the radiant light. The tree gave a wonderful rest to all seeking shade and protection.

The story of this resurrected tree, tells of a journey through pain and encompassing the fact that for a tree to be fully developed. It must have access to every basic nutrients available. It must have a sustainable root with unlimited H2O. The sun and leaves photosynthesis, cause without these aforementioned; no life is meant to the tree. Just also our lives as humans, likened to the tree is of no
sustainability without God. 'Can the creature survive without its Creator'. As God surfice as the water that resuscitates the tree. The tree had no life despite having its root, it could have only come alive by the scent of water.
Everything -- God = Nothing
Everything + God = Everything.

Blessed and worthy of praise be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ. Just as ( in His love). He chose us in Christ (actually selected us for himself as His own) before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy (that is; consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose driven) and blameless in His sight. In Love.
